I have a long running free 4 call system, but I now see a license expiration message in the system managment console

Warning! Your Subscription will expire on 01/01/2024. Without subscription you lose access to important features. Find out more .

I saw a recent post in the product relleases forum saying -
Back in March we announced all Free subscriptions will remain FREE until 31st December 2024.

Do I have to renew something, or are these being extended again.

Correctly registered subscriptions will be extended from 2nd January 2024, until March 2024. Thereafter if you are on V20 we will extend until the end of 2024 (at least). So you have nothing to worry about now, just ensure you upgrade to V20 by March.

Incorrectly registered licesnes expire 31st December, 2023.

My subscription (I'm currently running V18) says it expires on Mar 2, 2024.

The portal says it expires on 31 Dec 2023.

So I'm presuming that my system is incorrectly registered, but I can't find out what I need to do to correctly register it. Please point me to the correct documentation?

I used to have an 8 SC license for since 2013 or so. Once I realized after a few years in that we didn't need that many channels, I let the license expire and since have had it free. I have had the email correct on the install as well as the portal for some time now. It is listed as Self-Managed "3CX Standard (18.0) 4 SC" On the Dashboard it says "Standard Annual" 18.0 (Build 20).

My license is set to expire 3/1/24. I was on 18.0.5 something until this evening I upgraded to the latest. If I try to renew my license it wants me to buy a subscription. How can I renew past March? I thought I saw it was extended to Dec 2024.

Hi,

Your license being a FREE 4SC will be extended until the end of this year 31st December, 2024 if you upgrade to V20. It is currently on V18.

So for now, upgrade to V20 before 2nd March to keep your free 4SC. The extension of the license, until the end of 2024, will appear when we run a checker. It will not be automatic.

If you want this extension to appear instantly, you'd have to purchase an upgrade to a 4SC PRO, or move to a 3CX SMB which is free and extended automatically.

I have been on V20 since it was released, however it's still showing that my license will expire on March 1, 2024 at 6pm. Will this update to the end of the year, or is something incorrect in my setup?

Please see my reply above regarding subscription expiration date in v20 build 1620

Hello,

The extension of the free 4SCs has yet to happen, they will be extended prior to the current expiration date. So, you have nothing to worry about, especially if your license is correctly registered and on V20. For more information regarding the criteria for a free 4SC to be considered correctly registered - check this blog post https://www.3cx.com/blog/news/4sc-free-update/

I have clients on 18.0 Update 9 (Built 20). Is that version 20? If not where can I get it?

I appreciate you would like us to be on V20 by the 2nd of March, however where do the users who are running 3CX on the Windows platform who have no access to an update except for migrating to a linux version? Will all of the Windows users be out of luck in this case?

We will extend user's subscriptions on Windows (even if not on V20 yet) also, until July 2024.

The free license will only be available for Linux users so you will need to prepare for this

No problem, there will be time of course. We are going to improve on the SMB Free offering and i believe for many of those customers SMB will be the right way to go.

Oh the irony, I migrated to the Windows version because that seemed to be the way the wind was blowing at the time. I could try putting the old Linux box back into service, or reformat the current Windows machine which I don't really want to do.
What are the chances of the Linux version running under WSL2? I mean it is a practically headless non-GUI distro, and while running GUI applications under WSL seems to be a bit of a hack plain command line Linux seems to just work?

Use the 3CX ISO and you won't need Linux knowledge. It manages the OS and updates and the installation is a simple process.
