License keys extended to March 2024 and beyond.
Back in March we announced all Free subscriptions will remain FREE until 31st December 2024. To enjoy this extension, a number of criteria must be met. License keys have to be registered correctly in the customer’s name and email address, they have to have been issued before 1st January 2023, and you must upgrade to version 20. Read on for more on the latest updates as well as steps you can take if you haven’t done so already.
The 4SC FREE Rules
Here’s a reminder of how to keep your 4SC FREE:
- One subscription per customer account.
- Each account must be registered with a unique email.
- The license and the customer account must have the same email address.
New Extension Date for Correctly Registered Licenses
Correctly registered 4SC FREE licenses were extended until 2nd January 2024. We’re now extending this further until March 2024. More good news! We also ran our checker. So if you’re correctly registered, the pop-up banner has been removed from your Web Client.
What happens after March 2024?
We’ll extend correctly registered 4SC FREE licenses until the end of 2024 as long as they’ve been upgraded to Version 20. To prepare, please note the new requirements and upgrade information below:
Expiry of Incorrectly Registered Subscriptions
Incorrectly registered 4SC FREE subscriptions will expire 31st December 2023. If you’re not sure how to register your 3CX FREE account correctly follow the instructions. The pop-up warning message will continue to show in your web client until we run our checker. This takes place approximately once a month.
If you register your 4SC FREE correctly ahead of the expiry date the benefits outlined will apply - giving you an extension until March 2024. To extend your 4SC FREE until the end of 2024, you must also upgrade to Version 20.
If you own a 4SC FREE but it’s not registered with the details of your company, you will not be able to amend the registration details yourself. In this case, contact your 3CX Partner to transfer the ownership of your 4SC FREE license to you.
4SC FREE Keys Assigned to Partners
Register your customers’ keys correctly.
The deadline for the correct registration of 4SC FREE keys linked to a 3CX Partner have been extended from 1st September 2023 to the end of this year.
In addition to the rules above, 4SC FREE keys should not be registered to an email address using the Partner’s email domain. If you do have 4SC FREE customer subscriptions registered to your own emails, make sure you transfer ownership before 31st December 2023. Alternatively, upgrade these keys to a paid version.
Once you register the 4SC FREE keys correctly, you will need to upgrade your customers to Version 20 before March 2024.

What will happen to 4SC FREE keys which expire 31st December 2023?
If you do not register your subscription correctly by 31st December 2023 it will expire. You can however install a new 3CX SMB hosted and managed by 3CX.
