The Yealink T23G handsets have also disappeared from the list in Add Phone.

The handsets are still listed under phones but can't provision, perform firmware update.

Have manually updated the firmware of one to 44.84.0.140 via Yealink console.

Have also deleted the CyberData from that extension.

This is since upgrade to 16.0.89

:-(

Hi,

it sounds like you have modified templates on your system that may have then been removed or replaced (the Cyberdata entries gave that away).

Make sure you delete the custom templates and start from the beginning, using Google Chrome to access the management console.

1. Delete custom templates
2. Ensure the extensions have no entries (only 3CX app should appear in provisioning tab)
3. Factory reset your phone
4. Wait for it to appear in the the phones page as "new"
5. Select it and click "Assign Extension"

this most recent update was a disaster! between the ringtone issue with yealink, the update issue with 3cx and now templates on hundreds of phones (1000's ) in our case needed to be reset back to yealink from cyberdata? all I can say is WTH happened? we have never had these issues before with 3cx and will be working for a while to put templates back to proper format!

Hi @BJ Smith

Ringtone issue: that was quickly fixed with a template update once we realized that Yealink changed the behavior in the firmware.

Template issue: This is the result of custom templates being removed. I will explain in more detail

Reason: When the template you once assigned no longer exists, the system defaults to the first template in the list (ie. CyberData which just happens to appear first alphabetically). This means that the entry stored under your extension wants to load a template that the system can no longer find.

Causes: This means there were likely modifications done to the system and once you upgraded those modifications went away (don't modify the original folder contents, it gets cleaned and overwritten) OR you perhaps deleted an existing custom template at some point by mistake.

Note: We do not provide support for custom templates so if you face any issues with them you will have to manage it on your own. The above issue does not happen on our default templates because they always exist and always have the same path and name.

Suggestions: Avoid modifying the default templates (ie. the files themselves or the folder contents) because 3CX Updates to templates will overwrite any changes you made to them. You can create custom templates using this method, which stores the file in a folder that does not get deleted during updates, and you can also keep a backup of your custom templates in case you need to restore them in the future (same filename must remain though so the system can find it).

thanks John! I appreciate you guys and all your hard work, just a series of unfortunate things happened this time making it a bit frustrating (for you too I imagine!) I will check out the method you linked! thanks again!
