Is there a thread or a blog post that lists the currently supported or tested polycom firmware?

Hi,

You can find on the following links informations about tested firmware and how to configure and provision supported Policom devices:

http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/polycom-soundpoint.html
http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/polycom-provisioning.html
http://www.3cx.com/sip-phones/polycom-ip-6000.html
http://www.3cx.com/blog/ip-phone-configuration/upgrading-firmware-polycom/

There is also a youtube tutorial on how to provision your Policom IP Phones with 3cx that can be helpful:

A follow on question...is there not anyway to auto provision a polycom phone running as an external extension? I have read several posts stating that it isn't possible but it seems a little hard to believe. Can someone explain to me what is lacking that doesn't allow them to work?

Thanks!

Polycoms don't work as external extensions without using the 3cx tunnel software (that runs on a windows machine on the external network). The 3cx guys say that polycom is lacking stun support in their firmware. However, I have had Polycoms working as externals connected to linux SIP PBX without issue, so I think there could be more 3cx work done to make things work since who know if Polycom will ever add stun. The question is how many sales does 3cx miss by not having this ability?

Regarding firmware versions, if you look under the provisioning tab for an extension you will see that there are templates set up for firmware version 2.1, 3.1, 3.2, and 3.3 depending on the model of phone. I have a 330, 550 and 650 working on my network without issue.
