Hello,

I´ve got a question, one of our customers want to switch to another VoIP-Provider, without changing numbers, dialplans or anything else. Does anyone knows how to make this scenerio working with the 3CX Pro on Prem installation? We don´t want to add all numbers to a new trunk or configure inbound and outbound rules, only the VoIP-Provider is changing. Both providers are certified for 3CX, the customer simple want to change because of the price he pays for the monthly phone bill.

Thank you for an advice!

Sincerly

Then yes you'll need a new trunk provider and then port the DIDs and make sure that they are configured in the system.

Hi ConceptsWeb,

thanks for your answer, but what I meaned was: How to change without re-configuring all DIDs, inbound-, outbound-rules etc.?

Each provider has their own different configuration, which is why each provider has their own template. While the numbers might be the same but on a different provider what I would recommend is the following.

  1. Create your new provider in 3CX, using the providers own template.
  2. Go to your inbound rules and EXPORT your rules.
  3. Go to your Emergency Number settings, and change your emergency number routing to go through your new provider.
  4. Go to your outbound rules and reassign the routes to go through your new provider
  5. Delete your old provider. (This will delete any inbound rules you have for this provider)
  6. Go to the Inbound rules and ADD a new CID rule. Take a note of the 5 digit code in front of the new providers name. (no need to save t. we just need that reference number)
  7. Go to the CSV which was created on the export of your inbound rules.
  8. Change the port number for each of your existing rules to the new port number of the provider you got from step 6.
  9. Import your modified exportDID.csv file
You should now have a fully functional Trunk with the DIDs properly mapped.

Hello NicholasP_3CX,

that´s the steps I´m looking for - Thank you so much!
