We are running 18.0u3 and I've looked over the forum and really haven't found an answer.
Our T46Ss are on the latest 3cx firmware, and also tried the newer firmware from yealink, 3cx still marks the phone red like it's not on the right firmware despite saying it's on the latest.
The ever odder thing is, we currently have 3 provisioned, of the 3, 2 are on 66.86.0.5, and 1 of those 2 shows black and the other shows red... which makes 0 sense to me. Is it the custom template? Why does it do that, am I missing something here?

Thanks!

Hi,

If you have either of these conditions, the phones are marked red.

Firmware not updated = red

Custom template = red

Ah, did not know that... Thank you for the quick response!
One further question, is there any issue/reason not to upgrade to Yealink's latest firmware for the T46S?

Hello,

The answer is, we do not know if there will be any issues if you upgrade it to any version other than the one we provide.

Normally, Yealink will test their firmware with 3CX and if they do not find any problems they will release it to us so we can publish it.

Any version that they have not yet given us is untested. We automatically consider it as unsupported.

So they have to "give" it to you? It's freely downloadable from their website.

Are they responsible for the testing or are you?

If you look very carefully you'll notice that the 3CX supported firmware is not listed under the T46S firmware on the main support page for the device for the exact reason @JohnS_3CX . The version Yealink provides 3CX has tweaks to ensure compatibility with 3CX.

Both parties test it. First Yealink tests it and releases it to 3CX. Then 3CX does their own testing.

Yealink had me solve an issue with T46U phones with a firmware that is newer than the currently supported one. I need to implement this fix. Should I go ahead and update them even though it's not approved on 3CX yet? Yealink are the ones that asked me to use it.
Also, is there any way for customers to help get the newer firmware 'approved'? '
(version 108.86.0.108 )

You can do so at your own risk if the fix is important enough, keeping in mind that there may be issues we are not yet aware of. This makes your installation unsupported.

Otherwise, you can wait until Yealink tests it with 3CX and releases it officially to us. This is how firmware gets approved, so if you want to help expedite it you can suggest it to the manufacturer to do it earlier, but do keep in mind they have their own release schedule so they may not send it to us until they are ready (and perhaps a newer version than the one you got).

Sorry, but I have to ask about this again. This issue with T46U phones is on over 50 phones we only just got for our school district a few months ago. Their speakerphone is basically unusable since it glitches and cuts out altogether. So it's frustrating that Yealink or 3CX isn't releasing the newer firmware yet. It's been a few months. I've moved to a custom template and firmware for some users but I'm not understanding why a large issue like this would be so delayed. Thank you.

@Lloyd M same thing still applies as mentioned previously above. We have not yet received anything newer from Yealink I'm afraid.

We won't be releasing anything newer unless Yealink provides it, and that usually follows their own schedule - not ours.
