we have a problem registering a SIP account on the router phone, this is on a Free 3cx hosted PBX (1533.3cx.cloud).
We registered a Yealink T54W as router phone, one additional phone connected via this router phone.
This setup has been working for several weeks.

However now the T54w is getting provisioned and the router phone function works for the other phone in the network.
But the SIP account for the user won't register on the phone.
We tried reprovisioning the phone, manually adding the account and registering, resetting the phone.

Any clues as to what may cause this?

Please check the phone UI on Account 1 and confirm if yours also shows register status disabled like this case here:

Also state your exact firmware version please, this is important.
Hi ,

The account 1 was register failed not disabled. However when manually setting up account 2 (as described in the linked post) this come up without issue so the problem seems related.
Firmware is latest 3cx supported: 96.87.0.16

Please try again, in this order specifically:

  1. delete phone from 3CX
  2. add phone again to 3CX user as router (confirm event log that RPS is sent)
  3. factory reset phone (connected to LAN not WiFi)
Give the phone some time, it will reboot twice and should come online (SBC in Voice and Chat will become green), and then the phone will finally register account 1. Do not edit any setting in the phone itself, just allow it to complete the procedure and let us know how it goes.

Note: do not connect to IPv6 only network, you need IPv4

I am having the same issue, I have a T53w on f/w 96.86.0.158.

I have followed your instructions but the phone is still saying registration failed on account 1

FYI - I found my issue.
I looked in the log and found a message relating to "block wan requests was enabled". i have disabled "block remote non-tunnel connections" under user > options and now its working great.

Thats not the same issue... You didnt provision the phone correctly as router phone.

Router phones do not need that setting, so indeed that is a good sign that the phone was not provisioned correctly.
