Hi everyone,

I have a question.

I will soon be setting up a new 3CX on premise for a new customer.
This is not a problem so far - the customer is currently using a 3CX system with Yealink SIP-T46S desk phones from another provider.
My question is, can I delete the desk phones on the old system from the user\/system and then use the MAC address to provision them on the new system\/user?
Are these steps enough or do I need to do something else?

So far I have only provisioned new Yealink desk phones.
Thanks in advance for your help.

Kind regards
DC

Yes 99% of the time it will work like this. However some partners put the MACs directly into Yealink's RPS server. In those cases you may have issues and have to ask the former partner to remove the entries.

Thank you for your reply.
The problem will be that the former partner is very hard to reach.
Is there any other way to find out if the MAC addresses are registered in the Yealink RPS server?

Try adding your MAC to 3CX and check the event log.

You should either see a message that the MAC was successfully delivered, or you will see an error with the Yealink RPS reply telling you why it failed.

Make sure they have the 3CX firmware installed before you attempt provisioning them for best results.
