Hi Guys

We recently signed up for a standard SIP trunk with Telkom. Everything is working great, i can make calls recieve calls etc.

My issues is that i'm unable to direct DID's to specific extensions, no matter what i do. Telkom keeps saying it's the 3CX system routing all calls to the IVR instead of the extensions.

Has Anybody any experience with setting up these on Telkom SIP?

Good Morning Praetorium you will need to run a wireshark capture and check in the invite if and how the called number is being sent then make sure that your configuration is correct.

I have set up one Telkom SIP trunk in the past but don't recall having any issues with DID's.

Cheers

Hi @Praetorium

3CX has something we call catch all functionality. When a call comes in the PBX will try to match the call to a trunk and then to a DID/ Inbound rule. If that fails then the call will be routed to the main trunk number destination.

You need to make sure that the number format you are using for your DIDs in the PBX matches the formal the provider is using to send the calls to the PBX.

Example, if the provider is sending the DID as 0123456789 then you need to use the same format. If your number is +44123456789 then the routing will fail.
You can also use wildcards if you are not use of the format and add your number as *123456789 so no matter what format the provider is using the PBX will be able to match it to an inbound rule.
