We have a Telnyx trunk line, working on going live with the system and I noticed that it was recently taken off the global provider list. Any information on why or how we register new trunks now?

Hi!

Yes, that is true.

New trunks will have to be configured manually if you want to use them. If you have a V18 Update 3 though the template should still be available for now, although it will be removed in V18 Update 4.

Why was Telnyx removed? We use them for several customers. This is not good.

That's what I was wondering. In an IT owner's group that I'm part of they were the most highly recommended provider for SIP trunks with 3CX at the end of last year which is why we went with them.

Come on now, someone from 3CX answer the question. Why was Telnyx removed? They have a good product and easy to work with. 3CX has a good product and easy to work with. Sounds like 3CX is shooting themselves in the foot. I will be forced to move to another phone provider and move away from 3CX.

We offer many other alternatives in the same regions Telnyx operates in if you want to remain within the scope of using a Certified Provider.

You can of course continue using Telnyx if you want, just keep in mind that we will not be testing them with each new version release, so you will need to make any adjustments to the settings that are necessary.

What will happen in the future with the customers I have that use Telnyx for SIP trunk?

Nothing, whatever is configured will remain configured in your 3CX. If it worked before, it should continue to work as before.
The only thing that changes is the level of support the 3CX Support Team will be able to give you in case of a problem that involves the SIP Trunk provider.

Does this apply only to Hosted by 3CX? If not, can we know the reason why suddenly they wouldn't be supported anymore?

Specially since they are one of the only that works with SMS.

Will they continue to be supported for SMS?
That is unclear at the moment, but on a slightly different note, we will probably be adding new SMS Provider soon.

Unless the on-premise service has not been updated to remove Telnyx, then your statement is not correct.

Yesterday, I was bringing a new customer online planning on using Telnyx with 3CX hosted service. Found out that Telnyx is no longer allowed for the hosted service. I contacted 3CX support and was told that Telnyx is approved for on-premise systems. I had to jump through a bunch of hoops very quickly and build a system on site so I could host it on-premise. Took a couple of hours and fortunately, everything else was in place to allow me to do that, specifically static IP addresses for the server. I had to do this all yesterday because the porting of the numbers was scheduled for yesterday by 8pm.

That is what sucked about this. Had I have known, I could have been ready with a different setup,

The decimation of this information by 3CX was not handled very well.

And yes, I would also like to know the reason for dropping them. If this could be an issue with other SIP providers in the future, I do not want to get caught with my pants around my ankles again and will need to evaluate other PBX software systems.

If you are looking for a replacement SIP Trunk Provider, who really understands 3CX as much as you do and offers some of the best reseller benefits for 3CX partners - please reach out to me. I'd be happy to walk you through our service and program.

Do you service international? Will you be in 3CX SMS?

I too am surprised by this sudden removal.

For us too, SMS is a must so with very few choices on 3CX, we're really wondering what to do.

We don't. At least, not yet. It's an eventuality. However, in the meantime, we do have a very substantial alternative, and depending on your or your customer's needs, might be even better. It allows for one-to-one, one-to-many, blasts, campaigns, and canned responses. Take a look -

Hi everyone,

Co-founder/CEO of Telnyx here. Here's the context for our removal. We will do everything we can to continue to support 3CX users on our end.

Sorry for the inconvenience this is causing everyone. We remain committed to finding a solution with the team at 3CX.

Existing customers will not be affected and the trunks should continue to function as before. For on premise or self hosted systems the template is still available until the next release. For Hosted by 3CX the system works slightly different so the template is not available any more. However if your system is Hosted by 3CX and you are already using Telnyx then it will continue to work as before.
