When a mobile extension experiences a temporary loss of connectivity (Wi-Fi to cellular handoff, tunnel interruption, weak signal, etc.), the PBX should maintain the remote leg of the call for a configurable period (e.g. 10–20 seconds) while playing a comfort announcement such as: "Please hold while we reconnect the other party."

If the mobile client reconnects within the timeout, seamlessly restore audio. If not, disconnect the call normally - but maybe with a recorded message like: "I'm sorry, the remote party lost connection"
This would significantly improve the caller experience during brief network interruptions and reduce unnecessary dropped calls.

Currently, the 3CX mobile client just beeps, and the remote caller has no idea the call dropped... they just keep talking.

This would be fantastic! It's an issue i run into quite often on my own system. Luckily most of my customers use desk phones but an upcoming deployment I have will be 99% mobile app which I can see this being the main complaint I will get.

It would have to happen within the limitations of SIP messaging, which is (for the most part) is relying on a device sending a message to initiate an action. There are certain timers that will wait a pre-detirmined time before "giving up", but these usually happen during call setup.
