I spoke to my client who literally laughed in my face when I told them its 1800/yr for them to have an app that auto-makes empty voicemail name greetings. I get it, its more than they pay for 3CX itself annually ..

Anyway, so I'm thinking to get them up to speed quickly, wondering if anyone has tried making one recording and then copying it into the subfolders manually. I know on the Windows version you could just copy over voicemail files/folders and 3CX would pick them up. Im thinking why not for the name too? Has anyone even tried it? Its not a permanent solution, but if I can get the 200 users or so that need it setup, then we will make new people do their name moving forward.

I mean, it seems pretty simple to test no? Make an extension, do whatever is you want to do, test.

I assume you are referring to our 3CX Auto Self ID tool. Frankly, I agree, it is a simple little tool but it serves the intended purpose -- to automatically create missing self-identification messages.

We should, however, keep in mind that the price you are talking about is for 30+ commercial tools not just for this one tool. Additionally, you get access to many more custom applications we have developed for other customers as well. In other words, we are talking about well over 100+ tools for that price. With that understanding, maybe the price is not so laughable.

I would suggest that perhaps showing them all the tools we offer, and then mention "oh, by the way" they also provide a tool to solve your missing self-identification issue too... That message might be received a little more favorably.

Many times we can save your customer more money than our tools cost by eliminating the need for paid services such as an answering service using our 3CX On Call Manager or eliminating an automated appointment reminder service with our 3CX Power Dialer tool, or by improving agent performance with one of our many call center tools.

It is absolutely true that if you only needed one of our tools, the price might require some careful justification, but we do not offer individual tools, rather, you get ALL of our tools for that price. Like any sales opportunity, it is all about how you present the opportunity.

I hear people say all the time "but I only need one tool". Well, that is because your customer does not understand what our tools can do to expand the capabilities of 3CX. Show them all our tools and 100% of the time the conversation changes quite dramatically.

Attempting to sell one of our tools is a little like trying to sell 3CX by saying... "yes, you can make phone calls with 3CX" and leaving out all the other features offered by 3CX. Are your potential phone customers expecting to get a full web meeting solution when they purchase 3CX? Probably not. A thoughtful discussion about 3CX would always include web meetings, and SMS chat, and web, Windows, Android and iOS clients, and support for remote employees, right? What about cost savings possible by moving from a traditional phone service to SIP services? You simply would not attempt to sell 3CX by mentioning one basic feature while omitting all the other things it can do to improve their business and save them money.

I don't disagree, and might bring that up but there was a specific need in this case, and I had to solve it manually for now. I did sign up for a reseller about a week ago and havent heard back.
