Like many companies, we have an on call manager which operates 24/7.

I’m aware that I can create time based routing through the CFD, however, I’m not sure how this works with hosted but 3CX (if at all).

On our previous PBX, we could set up a ‘Time Based Route’ within the Ring/Hunt Group. The on call schedule never changes.

I’d love to be able to set this within the 3CX management console.

I’m also aware that third party apps exist for this but I don’t see the point in additional expenditure for a somewhat basic feature.

Thanks!

Apols - also worth noting that the on call manager changes daily hence the need for time/day based routing.

If you are 3cx hosted, CFD is not supported https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/hosted-info/

if hosted on other cloud providers , you can use cfd

Note: to use CFD you need Pro or Ent license

using a dummy extension may resolve the issue
Thanks for taking the time to reply! Yep, I'm since aware CFD isn't supported.

However, as the schedule changes daily, dummy extensions don't really work as they only allow you to transfer to one other person?

This is quite a simple feature which has been in all of the PBXs that I have worked with so slightly surprised it's not within 3CX.

You could modify the exception a bit to send calls based on specific hours:

This way, you can send the call to a different destination based on what day it is. You would have to create an additional exception for every destination.
