Hi!

I just found a tiny Bug in the Android App. [18.0.3.17]

When you open the Mailbox and listen to one entry and have that player still open and someone calls and hangs up, it starts playing again.

Expected: not playing.

Maybe you could put that in a patch.

Regards,

Sibul

P.S.

2. We will need the following information filled out and added to the intro of the post:
  • Phone Model: Tested with Samsung S10
  • Android Version: Android 10
  • App Version: [18.0.3.17]
  • 3CX PBX Version: Cloud - so current
  • Network Connection: Independend
  • Client is on the same network as the PBX or not? Not.

Depending on the issue, it might be good to also mention any other specifics that may be related. Some examples could be:

  • Happens when the app is open, not open (background) and locked.

This is expected behavior - like in iOS, an incoming phone call is considered an audio interruption for an audio player (Music, Spotify, any player, including the one playing the voicemail) so the operating system automatically resume playing once the call ends.

Wow, that was a quick reply. Didn't expected that ;-)

Hmm, so "done playing but forgot to close the menu" is an audio interruption for the OS so it starts playing again from start. Well, if that's how it is, than thank you for your time.

There's an apparent inconsistence, but this is by design:
- the audio player is "part" of the Voicemails view, therefore it will stop playing the voicemail once you "go" to another place, say Status, Contacts, Dialer and so on, because it's considered you're no longer interested in the voicemail. Now, assuming you're listening the voicemail (therefore you're in the Voicemails view) and there's an incoming call:
- if you decline it without answering you're still in the Voicemails view, so resuming playing is due to the fact you considered the call as an interruption.
- if you accept it and answer, the client goes to the dialer, because it considers you're no longer interested in listening the voicemail, but to handle the call (hold/transfer etc) therefore when the call ends, there's no longer a "player" since you left the Voicemails view.
I hope I explained OK.

Fully understood, thanks for making it even more clear!

It's just a not expected behavior from the user perspective that it starts playing again, especially if you just turned of the phone (while still at the menu with player open) and you are up to something totally different and suddenly it starts playing the Voicemail again.

We were laughing because it was something funny, but it could have been some business sensitive / private stuff and your phone in your pocket in a meeting situation. It just can lead to some embarrassment. ;-)

We'll check this case - thanks for reporting.
