Hello,

I'm running 3CX at my home as a test environment. Everything is consumer grade. Desktop with Win10 Pro running Hyper V. Standard ASUS consumer router. Firewall checker passes and I can make and receive calls via softphones.

When I plug in the Yealink T42G, it flashes between "no service" and my extension. I've factory reset it and loaded the 3CX firmware. Any ideas?

How you had it provisioned is also important. If it's provisioned as STUN or local LAN using the 3CX FQDN it's probably doing hairpinning/NAT loopback where it's trying to hit the outside of the router and then come back in. Please confirm you have it provisioned using 'Local LAN' and your 3CX internal IP address.

Does the registration, in the 3CX Activity Log, provide any clues as to what might be happening?

Yes, confirmed on local LAN.

How can I test if my network allows hairpining? Should I want my network to allow hairpinning?

If you are provisioned as local lan and the interface shows your internal IP then you shouldn't be doing hairpinning unless your network is more complex than described.

@Saqqara I looked at that page when provisioning. However, I believe I did the factory reset first and then upgraded the firmware.

Just now I went back and did another factory reset and also assigned a different extension. It seems to be working now.

However, it still shows up 3 times under the phones tab in 3CX. The current working extension, plus the two previous ones that did not work. Is that suppose to happen? Seems like the list could get pretty log with outdated phones.

ok, I waited over night and now the phone only shows up 1 time, as I would expect it to.
