I'm trying to initiate a call from US to Australia.

In 3CX phone app, I'm dialing number 011 61 4 xxxxxxxx. I've tried a few options but it always comes back with "Called number does not exist".

Can someone help with how to format the number?

Thanks,
Alex

Do any of your outbound rules handle numbers that long?

Yes, we have a rule set up for 14 digits on the length. We've also checked Australia in the "Security Settings" page.

turn activity log up to max, see if it is an error coming from the trunk or from 3cx.

If you look at the Activity Log, with the default settings, it will show if the call is being sent on to your provider, and, if there is a response from them. If the call is not making it to the provider, then the Activity Log will show why...incorrect outbound rule? If the number is being sent, then the format may be incorrect and you'd have to check with them to see what needs changing.

Hi Alex,

Firstly, Do you mean '0011' rather than '011'?

Secondly, are you certain the mobile number you are dialing (04xx xxx xxx) exists? You may be getting the error simply because the number isn't correct, it might be more complex than this, but sometimes the simply things might be the answer :)

We're based in Australia, so if you need someone in-country to test anything we're happy to be of assistance.

Thanks everyone. The root problem was our SIP trunk provider didn't allow international calls by default.

Glad to see the issue has been resolved and thank you for updating the thread with your solution.
