Any idea on when 3CX will support TLS in the Twilio Elastic Trunk? I want to port one of our main voice lines over to Twilio for their SMS/MMS support. But, I'm thinking I'm just going to forward voice back to my original carrier since the Twilio trunk isn't secure with 3cx. I think that will more than double my voice costs. Is there any way to secure the Twilio trunk?

Hi @myrich33

It is not very likely that Twilio will be ever supported for TLS as there are some limitations that we currently cannot overcome. First Twilio is an IP based trunk which requires 2 way TLS verification which we currently do not support. And second, each Twilio host name is different so they will need to issue an wildcard certificate to cover all host names and as per RFC the certificate for TLS must match the hostname exactly and wildcard certificates should not be used.

Great info, thanks!

Glad I could assist.
