Two 3CX SBC Failover?

i had a server from cloud 3cx and had two sbc different locations one from my home and the other one from my office which both has different public ip
what if one of the sbc from home is down and it is supposed to take another sbc takes over right? or do i have to manually configure it? sorry i am very new to 3cx ....

for example if the IP phone stays at home and when sbc down then if the office sbc on then other sbc which office one take over or not??

Phone will only connect to one sbc server , as you have sbc servers are different locations. If the sbc at home goes offline, the phone at home will also go offline, it will not use the office sbc server as it is at a different location.

if you want some redundancy you can have two sbc servers at the same location , and provision the phones across both sbc servers.

another option, use the 3cx web application or 3cx mobile which does not use sbc server, in the event of sbc server offline

Phone will only connect to one sbc server , as you have sbc servers are different locations. If the sbc at home goes offline, the phone at home will also go offline, it will not use the office sbc server as it is at a different location.

i have pbx server as cloud one....that's why i using sbc...

Ah, then you can't use High Availability. For the fastest recovery, you'd need to install a replacement SBC with the same IP address (so the phones still connect).

Possibly, install Hyper-V and create Debian SBC VMs with their own IP addresses.

so sounds like only failover sbc for linux not for windows I guess...well then yeah

No this is impossible - the office SBC cannot see your remote phones.

The "backup" SBC must also be at home, so you will have two SBCs at home now and if one stops, the other takes over.

You can do this using our Linux ISO and installing it on two machines in HA mode.

i got that parts but only work for linux?
so then why these things show on sbc when your log into the managment console ?
can you explain more things as well.?

Yes of course, they two entirely different concepts but put simply here is the main difference:

a) you wanted that the phone connects to a different SBC if your main SBC goes down.

b) but in the Management Console option the SBC connects to another PBX if your main PBX goes down.




So b) is not what you wanted. The solution for a) is what we discussed already:

1. You must install 2 Debian SBCs at home
2. You must set them up in HA mode so if one dies, the other one takes over immediately

The restrictions are:
- The HA mode can only work for SBCs on the same LAN. You cannot have one at home and one at the office failing over to each other.
- This only works for Linux SBCs, it is not available for Windows SBCs.
