Unable to activate new license key

I have recently restored a backup of a 3CX that has a 16SC license key. We have a new 4SC license key that we want to activate on the system instead. I've tried to replace the license key but it comes up with "A networking problem occurred while activating your license key: (Error code: 401)"

Any ideas on how to get around this?

That is less than ideal... The customer was on a 16SC as it bought by mistake by the previous provider. So the only way for me to use the 4SC key is to build a new 3CX from scratch?

Why you didnt downgrade your old licence key? Thats the way to do it.

How do I downgrade the old key? I didn't think that was an option. We still have the old license key activate as well
