I have a notice that there is an OS update Debian 8 to 9 its been there a while. When I try to execute the update it kicks me out and never actually updates my system. I've researched this and found conflicting and ambiguous information. I have read that this update is no longer offered using the utility in the management console and that the servers are no longer serving this update to 3cx PBX clients. Can anyone please set the record straight and give me some actual positive correct factual information about this issue? If I have to reinstall from scratch and restore from backup just say so why am I unable to find positive information about this?

Hi,
automatic update from Deb. 8 to 9 is anymore available from 3CX console. We should not wait so long time now , 3CX use Deb10 on PBX and SBC.

Which version your 3CX is actually running? you need to have almost V15.5 SP6 to upgrade to V16 SP4 , if so, then you surely be in quickest way to reinstall from scratch and restore your backup DURING install.

Hi @Rolteus,

Our updater calls upon Debian's own repositories to upgrade your system.

Debian has removed those repositories since a while ago, so our updater can no longer find them. (They are now hosted on an archive server for people who wish to still access them manually)

Your best bet now is to backup your system and restore it during a fresh installation using our ISO to get a fresh Debian 9 instance running.

Depending on what 3CX version you are now, you will need to move to 15.5SP6 before taking your final backup and wiping the machine. The link below will help give you all the information you need, and if you have any additional questions please feel free to ask here.

I'm currently at 15.5.15502.6. My plan is to replace my old 4 year old hardware with a new shuttle pc and keep the backup as a spare. Ill be doing a fresh install and restoring during the install. Thank you.

I have version 15.5.15502.6 so I should be good to go with my current backup. I already have my ISO loaded on a thumb drive just waiting on my new shuttle pc.

If I have more quesitons ill post them here.

Thank you for the direct answers.

Thank you.

Unless I missed the announcement Debian 10 isn't supported yet, just Debian 9. But definitely do a fresh install, much easier/cleaner.

Yes Cobaltit, you didn't missed , not already in Deb.10, just add "until " instead of coma in my above sentence.
