We are running a hosted version of 3CX (Version 20.0 Update 4 (Build 487 Release))
The majority of our handsets at T58 handsets configured as Hotdesk handsets.
We recently updated two handsets to the newer T58W Pro handsets, and they have been working fine, however, one of the users has reported an issue.
They can make hands free calls successfully, however, when they proceed to end the call by pressing the speaker button again, it has the effect of simply taking the call off speaker and not ending it. also picking up the physical handset and replacing it in the cradle doesnt end the call either.
I replaced the physical handset for the other T58W Pro and logged the user into the 2nd handset, however, the issue remains making it appear to be a profile issue and not a handset issue.
To further troubleshoot the problem, when I log into the same handset with my profile, the issue doesn't occur for me (pressing the speaker button ends the call).
Both handsets are running the latest firmware - 150.86.0.69

Is this a function that I can configure and update or do I need to delete and recreate the user's profile?

Sounds a bit sus and I cant see how a 3CX ext could be configured in this way. You might be better off raising this with Yealink.
