Hello, I am trying to change the FQDN on a paid licence.

I uninstalled 3CX using the command line as follows.

sudo apt-get purge 3cxpbx
sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get autoremove

I then deleted the entire instance off Amazon cloud.

I am not using backup to restore.

When I reinstall a new one, the old unwanted FQDN is still there. I have every other option (how many digits for the extension, etc), but no FQDN naming option.

I swear there is nowhere in the portal to 'release' the FQDN. I looked through every menu and submenu, but there is no such option. The unwanted FQDN is displayed throughout many places in the portal and can't be changed. The version says 16.0.676.

Please help me finally get rid of this unwanted FQDN. It's been a nightmare.

You have to remove the fqdn from the license from the 3cx customer portal.

remember to backup the existing system without license and fqdn, to reinstall the software

Which "Portal" are you referring to? The Management Console of the PBX or 3CX Customer Portal?

In the customer portal (https://customer.3cx.com) if you navigate to Keys you should see your license key listed. If you click on it, you will see the status of any FQDN bound to that key with the option to release it.

p.s: If you cannot see your key listed then you are logging in with the wrong customer portal account?!

Here is the screenshot of my customer portal when I click Keys.

When I then click anywhere in the bottom box this screen appears.

Where am I missing the link or button to release the FQDN? Because I just can't find one.

At the moment this is what I get, but I'll change to our own FQDN before we upgrade our licence to a full pro licence

@Matthaeus Read the note which is below the FQDN IP :) You need to login with the email account that key is bound to. Then you will see all options.

I saw the note but only have a single email associated. I logged in using a different browser and saw the large red button. Very frustrating… but after a long odyssey the FQDN is at last changed.
