HI, we seem unable to install the new Desktop App msi file. Our pc's are pretty locked down, when logged in as a domain user, the .msi file fails to run, so it wont install.

I can login to the machine as local admin, and install ok, But the app is then not visible as the logged in domain user.

if the file was issued as a .exe we could right click to run as admin to install under the domain user?

any ideas on how to overcome this?

Regards
Mark

If it helps with the "locked down" part it installs into C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Programs\3CXDesktopApp

You can use MSI Extractor to depackage the MSI and run 3CXWin8Phone.exe from the user account.

Since normal domain users do not have the necessary permissions to install it, this would be for the system administrator to carry out. You might find this article regarding deployment via GPO useful: https://www.3cx.com/blog/docs/desktop-app-ad-gpo/

Hi, thatnks, using GPO has worked, now installed and running correctly.
