Unable to provision Snom M300 base with 3CX V20 U6 724

Hello everyone,
I encountered an issue with automatic provisioning on an up-to-date M300 base station (530 B1400).

It was already installed and had two extensions successfully provisioned.
After adding two DECT phones, I created the extensions in 3CX, added them to the base station via 3CX, and restarted the base from its interface so it could retrieve the two new profiles.

However, it didn’t work — the base just wouldn’t fetch anything.
I tried everything: with and without the cfg{mac} file, checked if the URL shown in the syslog was correct, reset the base and did a full reconfiguration, rebuilt the 3CX configuration from scratch — nothing worked.

I ended up having to configure it manually like an M700.

From the syslog, the error message was:
loc3 .Info 2025-08-01T10:10:23Z 133-[ RemCfg: Attempting fetch of file: https://fqdn.on3cx.fr/provisioning/4irXXXXXfnj/cfg000413BXXXXC]
loc3 .Info 2025-08-01T10:10:23Z 133-[ RemCfg: Error loading file]

On the 3CX logs: nothing.

When I paste the provisioning URL from the Snom syslog into a browser, I can download the provisioning file successfully. The phone is on the same subnet as the base. Same network settings, same gateway, etc.

Unfortunately yes, it has reached EOL as you can see here and can no longer establish a secure connection to 3CX for remote provisioning due to the firmware/hardware limited TLS support.

Your options going forward:

1. Upgrade to the replacement, the M400.
2. Configure the M300 manually from now on.
3. Download the config file from 3CX, and upload it manually to the device (probably the easiest solution).

Hello, thank you for the information.

Back in the day, I manually configured a whole set of M700 base stations by entering the server details manually and creating each extension manually as well.

As for retrieving the config file from 3CX, no problem there.
However, when it comes to manually uploading it to the device, I’m not sure how to proceed.

I assume that from a local workstation, I’d need to open a shared folder on a domain, for example, and target a local URL like:
\\192.168.1.1\3CX\file.cfg instead of using the 3CX server, right here ?

Hello orlanIMP,

If you look at your screen snippet, you can see the filename is cfg{mac}, and not {mac}.cfg as you have mentioned.
And if you work local than use the IP, not FQDN, also use the HTTP and not the HTTPS
http://12.34.56.78/provisioning/{key}/cfg{mac}

But again, that is if all works great for the provisioning, but 3CX does not support the device anymore... so will this link work?

Much simpler, follow this format

https://mypbx.3cx.com/provisioning/xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx/cfgABCDEF123456

Then find the menu in the device that allows you to upload config files to it directly and feed the actual file to the device from there
