Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server

I have installed 3CX 18.0 on on-prem hyperV-VM, trying to activate customer trial installation, however, i have not installed using the configuration file / url generated on 3CX portal, instead, i have chosen to configure manually (a legacy option), as i wanted to change http & https port, which is not an option if i select URL / Upload configuration file.

After installation, i am unable to active the 3CX license it gives me the message "Unable to reach 3CX License Activation Server. Confirm that your Primary DNS Server is able to resolve activate.3cx.com"

Troubleshooting Done:
1. Confirmed i can resolve to activate.3cx.com from the 3CX machine
2. Tried changing 3CX DNS servers

Not sure what you mean by capture. Do you mean like with Wire Shark?

Meraki will also allow you to do this. You can go under Network Wide -> Packet Capture. If you can do it from the PBX itself, with the capture button.

I so I have tried it with both Advanced Malware Protection and Intrusion Detection and Prevention on and off with the same results

You need to run a wireshark capture while you replicate the issue and filter accordingly.
This will give you more information from where this is blocked.

I have 3CX server v18 update 7, i have just renrewed our license but i can not reach the license server. I read that i must have update 8 to be able to reissue the license. How can i get update 8,.I dont see it in the update list

https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads/debian10iso/debian-amd64-netinst-3cx.iso is update 9 I believe, or at least the same download I saved from late last year.

In short, about once, maybe twice, a year, an update is required to talk to the activation server. Keep an eye on the blog, or change log, or just enable automatic updates (which also installs Linux security updates).

FWIW we manage updates for servers we host, you might ask your partner.

You can set the PBX to automatically update to the next version to avoid such issue.
Note thought that this version was released on March 2023 and the PBX missed several updates since then.
