Unable to update 3cx PBX from 16.0.4.504 to 16.0.5.611 -

I have restarted all the services manually and this has not allowed me to download the update.

I have set it to automatically update out of hours however this does nothing

I have also updated the SBC to latest version 16.1.152

When updating the pbx it simply logs me out of the management console and does not update at all.

Can you provide this info:

  • 3CX Version, e.g. Standard Annual 16.0.2.910
  • Server OS, e.g. Debian 9 / Windows Server 2012 R2 / Raspberry Pi
  • Is the 3CX Server Hosted and where?

Have you tried rebooting the machine completely and trying again?

3cx version - Standard annual 16.0.4.504
Server OS - Windows 10 Pro
Hosted in Azure

I have rebooted from the terminal however this has made no difference at all.

I did an automatic update yesterday however I have looked through the logs and there is nothing showing.

Have you checked the windows event logs?

Have you got any antivirus on that machine that could be stopping your update?

are you referring to the 3cx SBC or the PBX?
PBX is hosted in azure
3cx SBC is hosted on-prem on a windows 10 pro device.

Hi,

Check your email: what error do you get when you try to update?

I am not receiving any email. so i cannot provide this information unfortunately

Ok, so when you press the update button, can you give us a detail description of what happens next?

Normally a failed update will send an email to the global administrator of the PBX, the one defined here under Settings > Email Settings. If this is not you, then you will not receive the email.

I have just checked the system and we do have the correct email however nothing is coming through at all.

There's many (many) posts about this already.

connect via SSH as root, or elevate using sudo su

Then run the following command and you should be able to update afterwards.

Bash:
wget -O - https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads/misc/debianpatches/9/16/0/5/20200619-os-update.sh | bash

Hi Thanks for all the support i have just run the command and this has worked perfectly fine without any problems the update has gone through.

Glad to hear!
