Hello,

We have a local install on Windows and have managed to get phones behind a Cisco SF-300 switch to show just fine on the 3CX > Phones section, but when trying on a US-48-500W nothing appears. Has anyone had any luck with that particular switch in such a scenario?

Bond,

We use a lot the UniFi switches for our deployments and do not have this issue. Are you possibly blocking multicast on the UniFi or have a VLAN misconfiguration on it? Switch/network requirements: https://www.3cx.com/docs/plug-and-play-ip-phone/

Also, what firmware version is on the UniFi. Ubiquiti has released some broken firmware in the past.

We do a lot of UniFi equipment as well with no issues.

Hi Chris, thanks for your response - we've enabled igmp snooping on the voice VLAN we've created but no joy. Can't seem to find anything else apart from mDNS but that seems to use the USG, which doesn't apply in this case as we are using an ER12 router. On the VLAN side of things we have the port profile set to All for the uplink and set the native network on a few ports to the voice vlan as well.

The switch is on firmware 5.76.7.13442.

Are you able to perform a trace to see if you're able to see any multicast? Are you sure your phone and PBX are on the same VLAN?

We can see multicast from the 3CX PC when logging into the cli of the unifi switch and both the phone and PBX are on the same VLAN.

Thats fine, you've factory reset the phone and youre using supported FW and template, the phone wont be the problem. You should look to your switch. If you did a pcap from the Fanvil you'll probably find it's broadcasting.

As @kieferschild said I think performing packet captures on every network node between IP Phone and PBX starting from the IP Phone and moving upwards should help you pinpoint where the issue is.

Filtering with ip 224.0.1.75 should be enough, you should be looking for something like this:

Let us know if you find anything.

Do you know which device on your network is the multicast querier? If there's no device acting as a querier/mrouter to trigger devices to send igmp reports theres nothing for the snooping to see and it will block multicast flow. In a unifi network my understanding is that by default a USG would become a querier, and the unifi switches will snoop, but don't setup a querier by default if nothing else in the network has that role.
