This is with Update 10 in mind.
We've just built a dedicated AI box to run the 3CX AI Transcription Server, as an alternative to OpenAI, Grok, Google and the other providers.
The catch is that in Update 10, the transcription server only services 16SC Enterprise systems. The cloud providers work across the full range of client systems, each with its own licensing limits. So the self-hosted option covers the smallest part of our client base, even though it probably makes the most sense for partners.
The 16SC requirement made sense before Update 10. Back then the transcription server ran on the PBX itself and could only serve that one system. Now that it can run on its own server and service multiple PBXs, it would be great to see it follow the same licensing rules as the other providers.
I think it would be a huge selling point for partners that allow 3CX to be the star of the show, not a 3rd party AI vendor.
Thanks to the team for the recent run of updates. The AI side of 3CX is really coming together.
