Update 4 Alpha: 3CX to Lead in Affordable Call Analytics with Own AI Tech

Adding transcription in 3CX was a brilliant idea. Thank you!

What is the max call duration than can be transcribed using the 3CX method?

With OpenAI we are limited to calls of up to 30 minutes as they drop any recording over 25mb. OpenAI can do longer calls, but the recordings must be broken into < 25mb chunks.

3 hours.

We updated our NFR system and no problems. We did change from OpenAI to 3CX for transcription and notice there is no sentiment or summary yet so I assume that is coming? We also upgraded another system running Professional license that doesn't get a lot of use to see the differences and it is missing OpenAI transcription option - only Google Speech is available. Please add this to your bug list. Otherwise so far so good. Thank you.

Yes call analytics is coming in update 5. To do OpenAI or 3CX AI you need an Enterprise license, so if the customer wants to transcribe calls they need to upgrade.

Voicemail Transcription is listed as a feature of Professional and Enterprise. In the notes for this Alpha version it specifically says that the new 3CX Transcription using the 3CX servers to do the processing is only available to Enterprise. Nearly all of our customers using Professional licenses have access to and are using OpenAI Whisper for voicemail transcription with V3. Are you telling me that is being removed as a feature of the Professional level license without prior notice even though right now Voicemail Transcription is still listed as a feature for Professional licenses on your Features page and that now we are going to have to upgrade all of these customers prior to upgrading to v4 or lose out on voicemail transcription? Or is this really just an oversight or mistake?

This is problematic as all customer systems are using the new storage features to backup everything to non-Google storage. None of them are using the call transcription features, only voicemail transcription. I don't believe there is a way to move to Google storage after you've set up an alternative storage without losing access to archived files. Is there a way to have OpenAI Whisper as the voicemail transcription method without enabling AI for call transcription and analytics for Pro licenses?

It's just C# code... save it in a text file...
Yes, I know that.
I also think that you know that I know that, since I have been publishing C# code in the 3CX forum for years ;)

Your answer doesn't help me. I would just like direct links for downloading the call scripts and that's what I asked for. Otherwise it's always manual work in 3CX to download the latest version of every script and see if anything has changed in the code in the store.

Like now: the holiday script has been changed extensively (possibly in response to my code?).

I really like the current solution of holiday.cs *LIKE++*

This is awesome!! Is there anything in development for taking this AI transcription/Sentiment, etc.. and popping it into the CRM integrations or making this available for the CRM variables?

Transcript and Summary are available already. The rest will probably be included in the variables. Hopefully, we get them all and get a much more complete ReportCall scenario to have a lot of fun!

Ok, I was already blown away by the OpenAI Call Transcription so I cant wait to see what you guys have come up with here.

I've showed the OpenAI Transcription to a few clients and friends, the general response is "WOW but scary" :)

The analytics that is available is indeed crazy and we go much further than openAI although they might add extra stuff as well overtime of course. All the data will be in the new reporting tables so you can make loads of reports for customers.

Yes also it will be exportable to systems via the API. Some of these things will need time of course.

But there will be also actionable things from a call for example this could be good for the CRM. all this gets done automatically.

I just updated to V20.0 Update 4 (Build 472 Alpha) and was using WhisperAI to transcribe voicemails. After updating I made a test call, and the VM did not get transcribed. I went to Integration>Transcription and it is no longer listed here. I see there is a change at System>Storage but no Open AI Whisper option.

I see that the new 3CX Transcription feature needs an Enterprise license [I am using professional]. Was the integrated Whisper AI option removed?

You need Enterprise Edition to do OpenAI as already explained above

Thanks for the rapid reply. Was the previous Whisper AI option removed?

Good day

The documentation about these feature looks great. Just want clarity on 1 spesific thing please?

With the Web Based Call Control API if we use /callcontrol/{dnnumber}/devices/{deviceid}/makecall

Can we make outbound calls to external party first and if answered connect it to a queue?
Web based outbound autodialer basically from within our crm.

Thank you

Edit: After doing https://github.com/3cx/call-control-examples and playing around it worked exactly like I wanted. BIG THANK YOU
this is game changer.

YES!!! Wish this was explained before.

Agreed. I wish it was explained better that the integrated OpenAI was being removed. I have professional and had been using it and is gone after the Alpha 4 update

Voice mail transcription via Google is still available. Yes you need too use Google storage for it. (something Google enforced not 3CX) Its normal for a Product Feature set to change over time. In our case there have also been very few changes. The two pending things not yet "enforced" are windows is part of Enterprise and direct routing of teams requires 16 sc license. Just for future reference - we have no plans to enforce as yet.

In regards to OpenAI this was introduced as an Enterprise feature just 2 months ago - its just we did not lock it down yet. We are not focusing on locking down features, we are focusing on developing them and leaving them for people to try for a few months then you can decide whether to upgrade or forego. Any case our Enterprise Edition with free voice mail transcription is still cheaper than Pro with OpenAI paid transcription.

More importantly we encourage all partners to use their ENT NFR to try out our inbuilt transcription because we think its a game changer for our platform. Try out it and you will see its just as good as OpenAI and it will allow you to take telephony productivity to a new level.

Note that OpenAI Whisper is also after Update only available for 3CX ENT. It stops working in 3CX PRO!
