Update from Version 18 build 5 to V20

Dear All,
I would like to have an information regarding an upgrade.

I have a client which is still on version 18.0 Update 5 (Built 418). I know it should have been updated but the Client has disable the auto Update.

Now on his 3CX i have the message unable to reach TCP activate.3cx.com

Also the client tried to upgrade the 3CX to the next Version 18.0 Update 6 But it says Maintenance Expired.


NOTE that we have already renewed the License Recently which expire in June Next year now.
My First question is there something i can do to make it upgrade without a reinstallation. By using Command such as follows :

Update the package list: sudo apt-get update
Install the latest version of 3CX: sudo apt-get install
3cxpbxConfigure the packages: sudo dpkg --configure -a

My Second question is if i have to reinstall the 3CX will a backup of V18 update 5 be able to be restored on a new 3CX V18 ISO. ( On Premises Installation )

Please let me know what are my option or if i have to manually export all config and import them in the NEW 3CX Version.

The answer to this is yes.

You will have to reinstall the latest 3CX V18 ISO and restore the backup you have from the previous build.

Before updating to V20 you should make sure that you have assigned a System Owner role to an extension and have configured it with a unique email address.
