I signed up for hosted 3CX about a month and a half ago, with the default free 4SC Standard license. Now I'd like to upgrade to 8SC Pro, but it seems to be showing the wrong price in the 3CX Portal.

A full year of 8SC Pro should be $265 according to the pricing list. I'd expect the upgrade to be no more than that, in fact I think it's supposed to be prorated, but in the portal it shows up as $291. Sure it's not that big of a difference, but I quoted a price to management and now it's different, so I need to be able to answer why this is the case.

@followthislogicet me clear things up for you :)
So as I can see you started hosting with 3cx 05/05 this year.
Now until next year you have free hosting with us.
If you upgrade the key today, your key will be 8sc which means bigger machine.
Since the hosting expires on 05/05/23 the difference until 20/06/23 is the small price you will pay on top.
With this way your key and also hosting will expire next year the same exact date.
Does this make sense to you ?

Is hosting only free for the first year on 4SC Standard? I thought all hosting was free for the first year - I'd had the thought that it might be $465 prorated ($265 + $200 for hosting) but that comes out to much more than $291!

Also I do have experience with self-managed, where you can upgrade any time during the year but the renewal date remains the same - does hosting work differently? It seems from your comment that if I upgrade, the renewal date changes? Because if the renewal date remains, I should pay less than a full year, not more!

@followthislogic yes Hosting is Free for the first year but the price you will pay is for the Key you will updgrade + the small difference the the extended hosting.
The dates of expiration of the key and the hosting date must be at the same date or else you will have a confusion.
Imagine the key to expire in 6 months for example and Hosting to Expire in 1 month.
If you miss the emails for the hosting expiration then your machine will be down.
I think its better to have them both at the same date and you have things in 1 place and with 1 day so you wont have too much trouble with this.

OK, I think I understand now! The end date of the license will be 1 year from today, not 1 year from 5/5/2022. So the extra cost is for the hosting from 5/5/2023 to 6/21/2023, and the math does check out for that ($200 prorated to that time span).

Great, thanks!
