I received the automatic update notice that I could update to the release version of v16 today. Which I did.

It looks that I lost in this process my Queue configuration as it 'looks' that this now becoming a pro / ent feature ?

Can you confirm that my call queue's are gone and that i need a professional license for this now ?

Maybe nicer to have a pop-up before starting the upgrade stating this....

In addition, the voice prompt playing back to the customer indicated clearly that this is a license issue. There are people that use this feature in the free version for external calls.

I'm not sure if pre v16 versions qualify for the key exchange which is supposed to happen automatically. A paid version should. You can contact 3CX (or your partner) to resolve

all commercial customers (license keys) on STD upgrading to v16 are switched to pro due to the change in licensing modules automaticly.

https://www.3cx.com/ordering/pricing/

free or trial customers remained in v16 on STD but the free tier is now 8 SC over 4 SC in 15.5.

Clarification:

a Standard Perpetual in Maintenance should upgrade to pro v16 and keep call ques and recording ?

We just downgraded to 16 from 15.5. What a disaster, everything is stripped down so much might as well leave the platform for something else...

They stripped it down to ensure the profitability of the software. If they were to give free 8SC will all the features, it wouldn't be to their advantage.

I agree with the new model: you don't wanna pay the commercial version, then get the free without queues and recordings, which is okay for most.

Have fun configuring Asterisk or paying x10 for another platform ;)

Some have changed to V16 Pro, some have not - any way of telling why and/or fixing it?
They were all 8 Standard Annual and up to date.

If there were Free Standard licenses, they won't be upgraded to Pro. Only Commercial licenses will.

They are paid for commercial annual 8 user licences, so they should have converted to Pro, from what I can ascertain.

In this case I would contact 3CX Support to see if the key can be upgraded manually.

Maybe @Bianca can help.

@rfcomms

Please go to Settings > License and click "Edit" then "OK".
Check if you now are on Pro version.

Tried that earlier, twice, rebooted the server, so have alerted account manager.

Hopefully teething troubles.

Correct. The product needs to maintain profit so that it can continue to improve. I think it's a pretty fair model tbh. Everything else in the many years I've looked has never come near feature Vs price compared to 3cx.

I've also got a problem with Call Queues. I've been running the free trial hosted on google cloud (all done through PBX Express) and following the automatic upgrade to V16, Call Queues have disappeared. I can do without call queues by using ring groups instead, but I can't administer it. The original call queues still show in drop down lists, but the call queues option for administration does not exist. This means that I can't remove the old call queues; they still seem to exist in the background despite no longer working.

I want to just re-create the original call queues as ring groups, but can't remove them entirely which also means I can't re-use the extension number. How can I clear them out so I can re-use the original extension number as a ring group?

@Rob Lindsey

The queue extensions are currently left in place so if you decide to upgrade you have your full configuration available with the minimum amount of effort.
Please send me a p.m. so we can assist you remove the Queue extensions if you do not need them.
