Upgrade to v20 on Windows with LOTS of Recordings

I've got to do an upgrade to v20 on Windows and there are so many recordings that I can't do the backup on the local drive. Instead of backing up the Recordings when I do the backup of the system before the uninstall, can I just move the c:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Recordings folder out of the way? Then, I could back up without recordings, uninstall, install v20, and replace the folder in the same location. Will that work?

I can also backup to a network drive, but the transfer in this case is very slow. I would prefer the above solution if it is viable.

I presume that by requiring a re-install of this system, it is installed on Windows. In this case, you can take a backup without including recordings and save it to a safe location outside the 3CX folders.

Then, you can copy the recordings to another location out of the 3cx folders for safekeeping but leave them in the local recording folder that is set in the system, as an uninstall of v18 should not delete the folder where the recordings or indeed where the backups are stored.

Note:

• Please ensure that you have set a system owner and a unique email address for it on all the extensions (we can't stress the importance of this enough)!
• Additionally, ensure you have access to the admin console by logging in with the system owner extesnion while still on v18 before you upgrade.

Then, uninstall version 18 and install version 20, choosing to restore the backup. Once the installation is complete, your recordings should still be available from the same folder as they were in on v18, after adjusting the filter, of course, to present past recordings if viewing them in the admin console from a system owner's perspective.

At most, you will need to open a ticket with us at 3cx technical support to supply you with the resync recordings command, although this is likely not to be required.
