Before upgrading from that I think was Ver 16 to Version 18 via uninstall and installing Ver 18, the MYPHONEVERSION still displays 16.3.0.264.

OK I see on the Dashboard the version is displayed as 18.0 (Build 965)

in the meantime.....

And running the Firewall check I am still seeing this....
testing ports [9000..9398]...
testing port 9000... full cone test failed (How to resolve?)
testing port 9002... done
testing port 9004... done

It fails on port 9000 although the firewall is open. And this on two clients networks.

Ports 9000-93981 are open and have not changed. Client cannot hear outgoing calls. No audio.

Regarding your question, if you have upgraded the version of the 3cx system to version 18 and make sure it is on sp4. The version of the 3cx app for windows though, will not be updated as the version you use is the latest available version. The 3cx app for windows is now considered 'legacy' and is no longer being developed. Although it will still work, using the new 3cx desktop app is recommended.

Regarding the firewall issue, you will need to ensure that the ports are forwarded properly as required: https://www.3cx.com/docs/ports/ The actual range of audio ports for versions 16 and 18 is 9000-10999 UDP.

My firewall does not allow the range 9000-10999 as it appears to have some overlap with another service.
Regarding "Windows APP" do you mean the built-in 3CX access control accessed thru http://myIPAddress:5000?

What can explain failing on the first port 9000? PS I have three systems all on Ver 18 Build 4. Two of them demonstrate this firewall issue (and no audio on outbound calls) and one system is WORKING. UDP ports set 9000-9032.

Firewall Check.(I trust it so what's going on?)

Regarding the Windows app, you can use the new 3cx desktop app installed via the webclient accessed through the https://FQDN:50001/webclient or http://youIPAddress:5000/webclient URLs. Note, though, that the RTP ports required for this are in the higher ranges of the UDP ports, so you will need to ensure that the entire port ranges are open. There are no exceptions here, your port ranges must be open even for the 3cx app for windows. https://www.3cx.com/docs/manual/firewall-router-configuration/.

Nothing can be done if you have audio issues and your ports are not forwarded correctly!

Additionally, check and make sure SIP ALG is disabled on your firewall, as this test is also failing.

The ports are forwarded correctly, and the system has been working great for two years.
Since an automatic update, two system that have been work are now failing Port 9000 cone test.
Nothing was changed in the firewall. It's got to be something in the new version or an update.
I can't fix my end as it is correct.

PS. It's only affecting outbound calls. Inbound call have no audio issues.
The Parameters FirstExtPort and LastExtPort limit the range of UDP ports.
However, even if I set the UDP ports to 9010-9032, the first port tested always fails.
Exp 9010 - Cone test fails..... This does seem to indicate something is not working as it should.

Problem solved. PORTS are open. Previous versions of 3CX were working for years. It appears that the SIP ALG test did not return equal values which caused the port 90 00 to fail. I disabled SIP ALG in the cable modem and all is good now.
I will test this, but the FIRSTEXTPORT and LASTEXTPORT might actually allow a smaller range of UDP ports 9000-max to be opened, for those who are concerned. CASE CLOSE
