Solved upgrade to ver 18 on Debian

Hi there,
I am fairly new to this and have been tasked with upgrading a number of our client's ver 16 installs to ver 18. I have completed all the windows ones including one from ver 15.5 now I have a couple of linux installs to update.
I do not claim to know a lot about Linux apart from some transferred knowledge from SunOS 5 admin job years ago ( where I learnt my VI skills )
I ran the backup and downloaded to my machine, and then ran the upgrade as defined by the system. However it seems it just uninstalled the old 3cx version but never completed the upgrade to debian 10 or the ver 18 3CX, leaving me with a broken system.
Fortunately this is on VMware so I downloaded the 3CX Ver18 iso, and built a new machine. Silly me, before I let the 3cx restore run, I neglected to change the ip address on the server to the old server ip address and now it has installed with the internal ip address that was handed out by dhcp.
The system appears to be up and running, and I have reserved the dhcp address for this server. However it is not seeing the handsets, I assume that they were bound to the old ip address ( old server is turned off), my question is, can I bind the new server to the old address, as well as the dhcp reserved address (they are both on the same subnet)?

answering my own question, yes I can and it has recognised the phones

Glad you figured it out!

Yes, you can change the LAN IP Address of the 3CX Server after it has been installed.
All you need to do is:

• In the Dashboard of the Management Console, on the right panel you should see a red warning of the IP change. Press on it, select the new IP, then press OK.
• For all extensions that you have IP Phone provisioned on, one by one, edit each one, go to the Provisioning tab, make sure that the right IP appears in the drop-down, then press OK.

You should be fine after doing this.
