Upgrading Snom D315 from 8.7.5.28

Hi,

I have a D315 which is well out of date. Giving it the update from 3CX doesn't work.

So I've tried from the web GUI on the phone using the https://downloads.3cx.com/downloads...areupdates/snom/snomD315-10.1.54.16-SIP-r.bin URL.

It takes it, extracts it, says it's fine. Then reverts to 8.7.5.28

I know this is a huge leap with countless versions in between. So what's my best course of action to get this handset (and another just like it) up to date? Are there key firmware versions to use as stepping stones? What are they and where do I get them?

Hi,

Due to the fact that Snom firmware has changed significantly since series 8 firmware, your phone will most have trouble jumping such a big firmware gap.

You should visit Snom's website and look for the articles that help you migrate to version 10.x first. If needed, you can also contact their support directly.

After this, your PBX should be able to upgrade you to the 3CX supported version.
