Hello, what are the steps required to upgrade a system that is running v18 u9 to v20. The PBX is running on windows server 2019.

From what i understand the steps are the following:
1. Set a system owner
2. take a configuration backup
3. from programs and features, uninstall 3cx
4. install 3cx v20.
5. restore the backup during the setup.

Can someone pelase confirm if these are the correct steps?

Basically, yes.

Don't forget:
  1. you should successfully log in as the system owner (with an email address or extension number) in the 3CX v18 webclient menu at least once to test this
  2. you might want to save the created 3CX backup outside of 3CX and test whether it's complete (successfully unpacking it completely has been enough for us so far)
  3. all users email addresses should be unique
  4. you should ensure that 3CX can successfully send emails in an emergency

Also, consider installing v20 as a Linux VM. 3CX at one point suggested an Enterprise license would be necessary for Windows. If/when automatic updates are enabled 3CX will take care of updating the OS and the rest is basically all the web GUI anyway.
