I have a client on v12.0.41311.996 SP6.2. They are finally wanting to upgrade. Maintenance has been in place the whole time, so they are covered there.

I was wondering what the steps would be? Looks like 12.x to 14 was backup, uninstall, reinstall, then restore. Then to 15 was the same. Could I just jump from 12 to 15.5? I will probably take a full backup first and then do this on a new disk so I can go back if necessary.

Thanks in advance.

No you cannot jump like this, you will need to go up incrementally. I think a jump from 14 to 15.5 should be OK but you will need to test this out for yourself.

Also bear in mind that in older versions of 3CX you had to use the backup and restore module.
Below are your installer files:

Thanks for the replies. I will tackle this soon!

To upgrade from a previous version of 3CX:
Make a backup of your current configuration using the 3CX Backup and restore tool.
Tick the options to include in your backup, then choose where to save your backup. Warning: Do not choose to store the backup inside any of the 3CX Phone System installation folders as these folders are removed during the uninstall process.
Uninstall the current version from the “Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features”.
Now download the 3CX Phone System v15 of choice.
Proceed with the installation.
Restore your configuration when prompted.

Notes:
From v12 SP 6.1 you must go to v12.5 first. *
From v12.5 SP2 you can go to 15(.5) *
From v14 you can go to v15(.5) directly.
Backups from previous versions can only be restored during the installation of the pbx.
