Use 3CX to Upgrade Multiple Devices in Firmware Succession

So, here's what I know.

The firmware version has fallen behind and 3CX is no longer able to push the latest firmware to multiple devices. Unfortunately, I have far too many phones to try and upgrade each firmware version in succession. While it is doable, I would like to know if there are alternatives. Perhaps I can use 3CX to push each successive firmware version that way I can click and forget for each version upgrade. OR, if there is anyone out that that knows of a way to update multiple devices in bulk, that would also be helpful.

I will be more diligent in firmware updates, going forward.

Okay .. I found a way to do this. Just for documentation sake, below is the steps I took based on the configurations .. which I'll also list.

3CX v18.0.965

The current firmware is Yealink T4X v66.83.0.55
The latest firmware is Yealink T4X v66.86.0.5

Every time I tried pushing a firmware upgrade to v66.86.0.5, nothing would happen.

Go to C:/ProgramData/3CX/Instance1/Data/Http/Interface/provisioning/[provisioning folder]/firmware_new/

In this directory is a firmware.json file. Backup this file to another directory on your host. Edit the file with a text editor. In my version, towards the bottom it has the latest firmware listed (supported by 3CX) and in my case, this is 66.86.0.5. So any version that pertained to 66.86.0.5 was changed to 66.84.0.35 (the next firmware up from 66.83.0.55) and the .json file was saved. Make sure that it saves as a .json file and not a .txt file. Once you've verified that the .json file is ready, you'll need to restart the 3CX PhoneSystem Database Server service. After the service is restarted and you select a Yealink phone and select Firmware+, it will list v66.84.0.35 instead of 66.86.0.5. You can now bulk update all phones to the next successive version.

After I update all the phones to 66.84.0.35, I restored the original firmware.json file I backed up earlier and 3CX was able to upgrade to the latest firmware 66.86.0.5 without any other successive upgrades.

Some things to know .. the firmware .ROM files that you are trying to use need to be listed in the directory listed above. In most cases, these are added by 3CX with PBX updates, but aren't automatically applied to phones (which might, if not, should be a feature request).
