Use extensions in a ring group from a bridge

Hi

I have a master and a slave bridge set up, everything work fine.

I want to add a ring group or extension from the slave bridge on a rule in the master bridge , is this possible?


The idea is : somebody calls for example 0800 05 500 , it goes to a ring group in the master bridge -> if not answer than to a ringroup in the slave bridge.

Is this possible?

There are ways but I wouldn't recommend it.

Specially for ring groups and queues.

Because groups and queues do quick polling, so you don't want that over a bridge. Also, extensions on the slave would never know they are called via a group, and thus apply the regular forwarding rules and not the Group/Queue DNA.

Use a dummy ext on the master that rings mobile simultaneously, set the mobile to the slave ext to ring with the prefix.

Keep in mind that it will cause issues if a slave voicemail answers the call from a master queue/group. Thus why I don't recommend it.

It seems you already sorted this out but I just want to add that you could do this by:

• Creating an RG on Master PBX
• Creating an RG on Slave PBX
• Set Master RG Destination if no answer to Slave RG

Note: The last step you would have to use "Forward to number" and add the slaved RG number with the bridge's prefix.
