Use our own Yealink RDS environment for router phones

Hello,

Is there a possibility to use our own Yealink RDS environment for the router phones? Let's say we want to provision a phone which was previously used as router phone, to a normal user phone. Normally we would add the mac address to our RDS environment, to have the phone go to the correct PBX. This is not possible because the mac address is stuck in the 3CX RDS environment.

Hi,

I'm afraid this is not possible. 3CX does not provide support for using your own Yealink RPS account.
Also, you cannot simply reprovision a router phone to become a normal phone via RPS.
The device will need to be factory reset so that the SBC configuration and accounts data gets fully erased.



However, if you simply wish to move a phone from one 3CX PBX to another, you can still do so via the 3CX RPS:

1. Delete the phone from the existing PBX via your web client admin panel
2. Add it to the next 3CX PBX
3. Factory reset the device
4. Upon startup, enter your new user / pass on the phone LCD when prompted and it will now switch to the new PBX
