I have a user that is using the web client to edit his BLF keys, he did this yesterday but today at around 24 hours later they all vanished and went back to default in the console. when logging into the web client they were not set there either. it's as if they never set anything. any ideas?

Surely automatic provisionning wiping each 24h and restoring settings from MC extensions.

Are you in V16 ?

Yes they are on 16, latest version. I too believe it’s auto-provision wiping it out but supposedly creating these in the web console they should be saved and not overwritten by the auto-provision.

Hi,

Please have the user set their BLFs in the webclient, and check to see that they are updated in the MC too.

Changes made on the deskphone will revert back to whatever the daily reprovisioning sends to the phone. But changes (BLFs) made on the Web Client should persist, and should update on the deskphone during the next reprovisioning cycle.

As for wallpaper, that may be model dependent. For example, on a Yealink T46G if we set a Logo on it via the management console, it will become the wallpaper. If the user changes the wallpaper manually, then at the next reprovisioning it will revert to the logo that is in the management console.

That is what is happening with the wallpaper so that explains that.

When they change BLF via the web client it is not updating the MC. I have tested this myself and when I do it the MC doesn’t update. I can work around this by making the changes in the MC for them but would rather have them do it themselves. I am not sure if it matters but I did set an initial config for all phones to have 2 line keys and 3 parks instead of them not having any soft keys defined. Would that change anything?

Did you set the line keys and parks via the management console or using a custom phone template?

If you do it via the management console, the user will see in their webclient whatever you have set for them originally.

Just a small note: click to enter the extension in the management console, AFTER the user makes the changes in the Webclient to ensure you are seeing the update correctly. Do not just refresh otherwise you will probably see the old data.

Ensure you do not have automatic backup restoration on the PBX because it will be reverting to the previous settings across the board.

by the management console, interesting note i changed a BLF via the web console this morning and it updated in the MC like it should have. i'm going to have to investigate further, perhaps it was a temporary hiccup going on.

i was, and i do not have auto-restore enabled.

Note that we only support Chrome officially, so only test with this browser. Incognito mode is also a good troubleshooting test since it disables any plugins or extensions the user may have and does not auto fill any boxes.

If the user can log in the webclient, then it means the webclient can communicate well enough with the PBX to send the BLF changes across. if you see the changes in the management console you can be confident the extension is ok. As for desk phones, that will rely on the next reprovisioning (and of course default templates and firmware by 3CX)
