Users can pick up their own parked call at the phone they parked it at but cannot pick it up at another phone. When they try to pick up the parked call at another phone, they receive a busy signal.

Confirmed. If there's a call parked, you can pick it back up.

Basically, v20 won't let you just "dial" SP if it's not busy/in-use.
Thanks for your try.

Because my Cisco Phone can transfer calls to an extension number like 1000 only. It's not possible to transfer SP1
Use better phones? It's 2023? Those are barely legacy support.

You can get a supported phone for under 40$ in many places.

Nope, I'm not a fan of Yealink, Snom etc. It's not professional for me and no solution because of PBX does not support. Everything works fine, the problem is 3CX not the phone.

No the problem is you're trying to use a Cisco phone (made for CUCM) on a totally different system. Don't be surprised that some stuff don't work lol

3CX should do what? Support 1000+ phone models because YOU like Cisco? Then why do you use 3CX and not ... a Cisco system?

Sometimes I love how people complain about something but then they're not following good practices lol

I don‘t see a problem. It‘s alsp possible to provisioning cisco phone. You have to know how to do. It‘s more IT know-how to set a custom Template. Everything works fine. Cisco is supported but 3CX removed all templates that you have to use phones that 3CX want that the customer to use. Not for me. By the way Cisco is CUCM with Enterprise Firmware. Multiplattform is a different way that I use.

Same issue with the 3CX mobile app, iPad, etc. Plus in v20 everyone has to be a Receptionist to use SP which also grants additional rights.

Maybe your App is unsupported in 2023 xD

The mobile app is another story lol

And yeah I am aware of the rights issue, which is not related to this at all.

But is it possible with receptionist rights?

Yeah for some reason they made it impossible to have a user who can park calls (not sure why?)

And we can't customize the roles anymore. Bummer.

The original question in the thread was about rights. Your question was about dialing SPx through an extension which is a different issue. If 3CX has removed that ability when editing an extension, that's not a role/rights issue.

I don't fully understand either since we use SP on almost every phone call. I would guess, someone decided that a receptionist screens calls for their manager, and other people shouldn't be able to pick up those parked calls.

Apparently the new methodology is to Hold and/or Transfer, and staff are going to need to be retrained. Which seems to mean to me that SP is not very useful going forward unless clients are OK with giving everyone on staff "Control IVR" and "Override office hours" rights. Receptionists also cannot Intercom.

I'm trying to be positive here and understand the thought process behind taking away options that worked just fine.

I'm going to have to do some testing. Many of my clients use the shared parking.

How can I pickup shared parking calls now from my Yealink wireless phone? I used to dial 771, 772 and forwarded a dummy extension. Now I'm not sure what to do..

So is it in fact true that we can't do this with a dummy extension in v20? 1704319322019.png

Parking will revert back to the user level in RC3 - so you can park and unpark calls without having to be a receptionist

Can we do this in version 20?1704654068082.png

Hi @Nick Galea, just a suggestion but I think allowing at least the receptionist role have the ability to intercom would be a good update for RC3 as well. I understand if you don't want to add it to the user role, but even in V18, the receptionist role had that ability. As it stands now, you have to bump the extension role up to a manager to allow that feature in V20.

@4x4jackson its already part of the receptionist role, so if its not working for you it must be something else...

@Nick Galea, it is in v18, but according to the v20 breakdown of roles, it is not showing active under the receptionist role. I do not have a system running on v20 yet with the intercom feature to test, I was only going by what the following screenshot shows from the 3cx website.
