Good morning,

I don't know if this is possible but as the title states I have a situation at a client that has caused us to want to try using the 3CX voicemail system for some extensions and Exchange UM for others.

I am testing on an extension upon which I have the Away status set to foward to the Exchange trunk based on an outbound call pattern. I get to Exchange OK but the issue is that call doesn't send a Diversion Header when it reaches Exchange in this way so the call doesn't make it to the mailbox, it only goes to the top level of UM and asks you to log in. Is there a way to make this diversion header show up and reference the extension number that sent the call over to the Exchange trunk?

Hi @c.holloway

I am afraid that the Diversion header is not supported by the 3CX system so it is not possible to be added in an outbound call. Is there any other way you can send the info to Exchange to get this working?

I was able to make this work but I had the bounce the call off of an Adtran SBC and utilize its HMR capabilities to do some header rewrites. It's ugly but it works. Would be a lot nicer if 3CX could just send a diversion header without having the "Use MS Exchange for voicemail" checkbox ticked though. Any chance that option could be made part of trunk configs in the future?

Hi @c.holloway ,

I wish I had better news, but it's unlikely.

I just like to though in that UM is strip in the latest Exchange version and on 365 you could already long time not add it anymore and to my knowledge existing configuration also stopped working.

I would not invest time in this anymore.

Alternatively, check if 3CX Teams Direct Routing would not be a better solution for you to use.
