v16 Release Candidate: Getting Ready to Launch

I would love to beta test the new Call flow Designer. We are running Ver. 16 Beta RC - let me know how we can help and also try this out.
Hello Mr Kreeger - yes absolutely... Ill keep it in mind when I send out the mailer. Working on some final touches.. I have some other 3CX veterans that also want to give it a shot. I'll keep in touch.

So much good stuff! New Google Speech transcription is awesome - quite accurate and very quick! AND it apparently ALSO transcribes Recordings - very cool! So will there be an option to disable for Recordings? Since this could generate a considerable volume of transactions at a cost, then being able to NOT include recordings would be desirable.

And speaking of, the Group Recordings feature is excellent!

the 'call control api' still works in version 16 ??

Hello,
is there a Beta testing forum? it seems that "Call Costs" arent calculated correctly.
I remove everything, just left "default" and set to 5... it keeps calculating in reports with cost 1.

Thank you,
Yves

I read "Added naming for System Extensions such as Call Parking & Shared Parking in System Extension Page" in the change log. Great addition.

I went to "system extensions" on the dashboard and can't see how to edit them. Can't seem to find them under the settings page just in case that was the wrong spot. What am I missing?

Running v16 RC1 and using Chrome browser.

@nb The Grandstream template has now an adaptive jitter instead of fixed. This since last RC of the template. May I know why? Now I get shitty audio. I am using a VPN to link to my cloud pbx.

Very good news! Waiting 22th for the stable version and sure preparing a new test lab with RC!

Anyone have noted any bug since 15th with RC?

I tried to upgrade our system over the weekend on a Winddows 10 Computer. We are on a fully patched V15.5 with a "real" public certificate installed. I backed up the entire system and unstalled V15.5. Rebooted and started the V16 install. When the install gets to the point of trying to get a certificate, it just hangs. After 600 seconds, it times out and throws an error message about not being able to aquire a certificate.

With V15.5, the installed asked for the public certificate and installed it as part of the install. This did not. I was only guessing that this was trying to use the certificate from the backup? This is a Comodo certificate.

I am going to guess this is a bug and should be looked at before this goes final.

@innovative7 There was an issue with our activation server that has now been resolved. I'm wondering if it will allow you to proceed now in case you try to install again.

I will try it again.

Andy

Seems Google Contacts integration no longer available into v16 RC. Correct ?

Yes confirmed - the module has been removed. We are exploring / researching another alternative. The way forward has to be server side.

Hi thanks for reporting. I think yes, it should ask you because if certificate is custom, we back nothing from it. We will check.

In the v16 alpha 2 thread, there was mention of improved call reports including call quality stats.
https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-v16-reloaded-alpha-2-lands.62408/post-262415

I'm not seeing any call quality info in the reports section after upgrading to the RC. Is it there and I'm missing it or is this something slated for a future release?

Hi, thanks for reaching out. This brings up a point which was has not been mentioned yet in this post.
You need to check your license key. The key seems to be part of the free standard key program. If the key was purchased, it would have been automatically upgraded at installation time (or during the restore).

In V16, a standard version does not have Queues and Reporting. Contact sales and check the status of the key + explore any other options available to get a PRO.

Thanks for the reply. I'm using our NFR key which does have the features you mentioned, Reports and Queues.
I was specifically asking about reports that include info about call quality. Has that been added?

Hello, I am having issues with DTMF tones and a yealink T58. It worked on the previous Beta with the phone running 80.0.65 firmware

It seems the RC has suggested to upgrade the firmware of the T58 to 83.0.25, perhaps this has something to do with it?

Tones do not work with 80.0.40, 80.0.65, or 83.0.25. I made a post here: https://www.3cx.com/community/threads/3cx-v16rc-no-more-dtmf-tones-with-yealink-t58.64122/

We will check and get back to you. Thanks for reporting.

I was able to install now. I think 3CX had issues with the activation server over the weekend. The good news, the public cert restored on to V16. Very cool. Seamless upgrade.

Something to note. In the office 365 integration page, step 1 has you going to https://apps.dev.microsoft.com . This is no longer the case. You now need to go to Azure https://portal.azure.com/#blade/Microsoft_AAD_RegisteredApps/ApplicationsListBlade

OK that's good to hear. I also forget sometimes. That part was never touched. This explains why screens were skipped.
OK so yes, if activation was not reachable, then installation times out. This explains why the certificate failed - ssl exchanges were not received.

Re office 365 - thanks for the tip.
I tried it actually this very morning. Our link works. It's OK - It takes you to the app lists (the previous version).
Your link is also good - but we need to document.
That goes to the new UI. We will make a guide for this. Luckily the steps are very similar, at times identical.

But yes, eventually we will move to document only the new UI. Noted.

Found something else out with Office 365. Some of our office 365 users were not showing up in our list of users to chose from under contacts and calendar within 3CX. Apparently, if you office365 account is older then 2014, the AD attribute "Usertype" is missing information. It should say "Member" I found an article that shows you how to fix this. This fixed my issue and now I can see all my AD users in 3CX. I thought I would share this. Not sure this is the best place though.

Here are my before and after results using get-msoluser command.
