Dear members,

I'm wondering if my V16(2) is elegible to upgrade to 5.

My 3CX (16.0.2.910) instance runs on Debian 9.8
Whenever I click on Update button I receive "Unable to reach 3CX Updates server. Check your internet connection and try again."

I checked following preliminary parameters:
DOWNLOADS_URL: https://downloads-us.3cx.com/downloads/v160
SP_VERSDESC: SP.
The maintenance is Active.

No drops on firewall or restriction towards internet.

do have any idea?

Yes you can upgrade to update5, if you have a valid license.

That is the correct url address for DOWNLOADS_URL

On the server, can you ping the downloads-global.3cx.com

Thanks for response.

About license I think yes, due to is a Perpetual Professional.

I performed a wget
root@3cx:~# wget https://downloads-global.3cx.com/downloads

root@3cx:~# ping downloads-global.3cx.com

It's a little bit different.

I restarted these services but didn't help :-(

3CXAudioProvider01
3CXCallFlow01
3CXQueueManager01
3CXSystemService01
3CXIVR01
3CXPhoneSystemMC01
3CXPhoneSystem01
3CXCfgServ01

I get always "Unable to reach 3CX Updates server. Check your internet connection and try again."

Any suggestion?

as you are on Linux, it can be that your source.list are changed?
Did you use to install the PBX from the 3CX-ISO or by other means?

what is defined in
nano /etc/apt/sources.list.d/3cxpbx.list

strange, let me PM you, it is Friday, lets have a look.

I'm going to take a wild guess here: have you edited, changed, uploaded, or in any way played around with any of the template files?

you're right!
Just a little text on "Conference - Audio and Video" email template.

That's causing the issue?!?!?!

The email template should not affect this. I was thinking more along the lines of IP Phone, Provider, Gateway, fxs templates.

If you intend files *.ph.xml under Settings>Templates, then answer is no.
Only that little text on mail template.
There is a way to dectect that?

Not an easy way... :/
Send me a PM with TeamViewer credentials to your Windows machine and from there we can access MC and SSH to see what is going on....

The problem was solved by a 3CX TOP Engineer ;-)

it was a modified template that initial installer technician modified in order to allow patton devices to work!

Thank you so much @NickD_3CX

Ok, to everyone else that have this error, double-check that nobody has tampered with the template files that are located:
  • Linux: /var/lib/3cxpbx/Instance1/Data/Http/Templates/
  • Windows: C:\ProgramData\3CX\Instance1\Data\Http\Templates
If for whatever reason the Update checker cannot parse or correctly read the version numbers of these files, you will most likely get this error.
