Hello, In the past we when taking over a site and migrating to 3CX we change the site from 3 digit to 4 digit. Retraining is normally not an issue, but in prior versions I had the ability to set the SIP ID of extension 1450 to 450 so when a user dials 450 it automatically goes to 1450. It seems that is no longer the case with V18, or I am just that out of practice.

What is the new method for this? All of the postings I have found so far are for prior versions. Somebody suggested using the Company Phonebook, but I don't see a mechanism for this to work. (80% of the extensions are analog lines behind a bank of Grandstream GXW4248 devices and the clients are much past the level of retraining so I am trying to make this change as easy for them as possible (assisted living facility)

I view the call logs and there are HUNDREDS of calls going to the old 3 digit extensions because even being told + provided a list of new phone numbers they forget to put a 1 in front of the old extension to make it 4 digit.

As @leejor make sure the "Allow calls from/to external SIP URIs" checkbox under "Settings >> Network >> FQDN" is selected, but, also make sure that the FQDN in both 1 & 2 fields below is the exact same value:

You would of course have to also specify a SIP ID for each extension under "Extensions/Users >> Edit >> Options >> SIP ID"

Also I do have to mention that the Direct SIP calls feature was not designed for this kind of use case per se and that this will open the PBX to accept external direct SIP calls too.

I think for this point alone Ill abandon this. This instance is cloud based and all extensions only connect via SBC but even on the networks there isnt much we have control of.
