v18 Update 3 | SSL Cert Issue

Yes, does anyone know the command to update the ssl certs via ssh on a debian install. I rather do that than do a restore/back up. We missed the update window and would like to get our system up todate. I have already done apt-update/apt-upgrade and still can't communicate with activate.3cx.com. I have done nslookup and ping and can get to the servicer so I know it's the SSL security cert issue. Thanks in advance.

I would take a backup and reinstall the appliance with the latest update if you are not being offered the upgrade packages.
If this is a raspberry pi those are no longer supported except to use as a SBC. Either get a replacement system, switch to hosted or a self hosted and repurpose the RPi as your local SBC. For purpose of running the server it is now end of life.

If you need a replacement system for on prem use, I really like the refurb off lease mini computers like HP Elitedesk 800 G3. You can enable Intel vPRO to run it headless or install xcp-ng if you want it to be a little virtual server.

If you're on 18u3 it's not your cert that's a problem. 3CX changed their activation system last year so older versions can't connect to activate. IIRC minimum 18u5 was necessary. Per other posts here you'll need to install new and restore.

I know upgrades to 18u7 were halted per posts here, not sure about new installs, haven't looked.

Also note 3CX 1) recommends against updating everything on the command line, 2) updates OS packages if automatic updates are enabled, and 3) does not update OS packages if 3CX updates are installed automatically. So, enable the 3CX automatic update when you want to update. In recent versions it can be set monthly.

If you use a custom FQDN (non-3CX) there is no such possibility regardless of the above.

- For example if your URL is john.3cx.com you can renew it automatically (after you upgrade).

- If it is john.mycompany.com then this is not possible at all.
