The upgrade shouldn't fail because of an "uncommon" source list, but having said that, zabbix is a very common system monitoring application.

Can you guys please add zabbix.list to line 740 of update.sh?

Hi there,

We are aware that Zabbix is popular, but so is a multitude of other software :) To ensure the upgrade is as smooth as possible, we need to keep third party software "interference" to the absolute minimum.

For the upgrade to proceed please remove zabbix.list under /etc/apt/sources.list.d (and/or any other third party source list you may have).

Given that nothing else comes up, it should complete successfully.

How about having an option to not have the update fail because we aren't using only software you find acceptable?

@AnthonyKolka your machine did not fail and become unresponsive, the script detected the unsupported source list and rolled back. Based on your output above the PBX is still on the same version as it was.
Since you want to use this software you may then take a full backup of your PBX, setup a new machine, install v18 and upgrade your PBX with this way.

As I am sure you understand, there can be hundreds of different setups/configurations out there. It is impossible to cater for every single one of them and ensure that nothing will fail during an O.S upgrade (this is not a simple 3CX upgrade, this is a distribution upgrade where hundreds of packages and configs are being upgraded).

Having said that, even though technically one is free to install whatever they want on their system, we always recommend to keep servers running 3CX as "default" as possible to avoid issues. If you want to install any third party software you may do so but then you will have to troubleshoot it yourself should anything breaks.

Either setup a new server as NikosT_3CX suggested (which is the recommended option) or follow our guidelines and remove the extra sources for the upgrade to proceed.

Right, so maybe treat self hosters as if they may have a clue and allow them a way to bypass this checking.

It doesn't matter though. I will go through your script and determine how to perform this upgrade manually.
