I've set aside some time today for the upgrade and set it away.
I don't have a failure notification, but the upgrade has been running for over an hour. Observability on the GCE instance has gone a bit... odd..
Performance does not seem to be being reliably updated / relayed back to GCE from the instance. For instance the disk throughput has dropped back to about a third of its highest level now but consistently reports exactly the same speed.and has done for about 20 minutes - and I don't mean reports a similar speed, I mean exactly the same (5.02Mb/s).
Logging appears to have stopped.
CPU usage is <20% and network traffic is virtually zero.
How long do I give it before assuming this upgrade has died? Are there any reliable methods for checking if the upgrade is still in progress?
